Debt and me...

A NEW HORIZON-

I finally saw all of my credit card balances today with balances under $1. How did they finally get paid off? It was a goal of mine since I was 23 so now 10 years later after taking 5 years to accumulate to near bankruptcy status to paying them off with out missing one payment or even being late once I feel good. I don't want to keep talking about it to my friends and family so I thought I would express my joy to world wide web! I feel as though I want to scream from the top of a mountain right now, "I AM FREE". It took me from March 2006 to January 2011 to pay my final payment. It takes discipline, hard work, and a budget to accomplish getting out of debt. I went through a hard time without a job and was fortunate to of had a strong influence in my life to save, save, save. Thank you Dad! That helped me not lose it during the time I didn't have a paycheck coming in. Money is what is! You can always make more. It doesn't guarantee happiness, but with it you are able to help yourself and others. I can't wait to finally be a blessing to others. It may mean I wait two years until I buy a house the American dream, but I am okay with that. I love my one bedroom apartment and the neighborhood I live in. I am able to watch the sunset from my balcony as I BBQ. I don't have to cut the grass. I call my manager when I have a plumbing problem. What is so wrong with that? Nothing. I love it! I don't have a husband and family like I thought I would at 33 and that's okay. This week I have been feeling like I am exactly where I am supposed to be. While I was walking around the track tonight I felt like all is right with the world. I feel good about me. I feel good about my situation in my job. I may or may not have a job in a month, but I strongly feel GOD is guiding my steps. To feel at peace in a world that seems to be in such disarray is a good thing. I will focus everyday to be the best person that I can. In 2011, I will be good to me and promise to not be too hard on myself. I will be true to myself and others. My inspiration everyday on my way to work comes from a simple prayer shared with me by my mother. "God, please bless me indeed. Help me to expand my territory. Keep me away from evil. Lay your hands upon me." It is a simple, but powerful prayer that I just love! Each short sentence means so much to me and takes me to a different place every morning. Thank you Mom! A peaceful Steph....
